3rd Grade Dancer: Deborah Denehy
Deborah is a 5th generation Bostonian, a long-time resident of San Francisco, and a third grade teacher at Saint Cecilia School. Her passions include teaching 3rd graders, traveling, and social dancing. Deborah adores all genres of dance music. As a young girl, she was introduced to dance watching American Bandstand in the comfort of her living room, where her mother would teach Deborah and her sister Johanna to dance. The sisters learned to cha cha, the stroll, the hop, and South Philly style swing dancing. The warm summer nights in Boston meant that a neighborhood teen brought a record player outside and kids danced the night away to the latest 45’s. It was natural to teach one another the latest moves, and, as 9 year old, Deborah was a good student. Today, she continues to swing dance the night away at various venues throughout the Bay Area.
3rd Grade Dancer: Jose Fabre
With a name like Jose Antonio Fabre and a Dominican background, you’d think he’d be a professional baseball player or a world renowned salsa king...NOT! Jose was born in Manhattan and is the eldest male of 5 siblings. After relocating to the Bay Area in the early 80’s, he settled in San Francisco with his family. He is the loving husband to his wife, Nelly, who is an SC alum, and father of Nelly and Marcella Fabre, grades 3 and 4, and a pet bunny named Oreo.
In his free time, when he’s not driving his kids all over town to all their weekend activities, he is perfecting his moves like Jagger…NOT! Jose is a team player and is perfectly okay with putting himself out there, even when coaxed to dance by his sister-in-law!
3rd Grade Manager: Lilly Angelopoulos & Jenny Noyes
