Team 4th Grade
Starring
Erin Burke, Antoinette Haugh & Lou Ibarra-Rivera
Luis Ibarra-Rivera
Luis, a tried-and-true San Francisco native, began tickling the ivories at a young age. Born into a family with strong musical talents, it was no shock to family and friends of his Cow Hollow neighborhood, that he emerged as a classical pianist prodigy. During his time studying the classics abroad, Luis discovered and fell in love with the blues. He spent his teenage years jumping railroad cars in the South going from blues bar to blues joint. During the late seventies (yes, seventies), one of Luis’ oldest friends, Bon, asked him to tour and fill in as a backup keyboardist and bagpiper for his band AC/DC. Luis left the band and then hooked up with local band, Y&T, as a backup keyboardist.
In the late 1900’s, Luis met and chased the love of his life. A few years later, he left the world or rock ‘n’ roll and settled down with his three baby’s mama. These days, he is teaching his three boys how to play the blues and defend the pick and roll.
Erin Burke
Erin Burke has been singing into her hairbrush since she had hair to brush.
For decades, she has been making appearances nightly - singing and dancing in her kitchen and in front of her bathroom mirror. Given her love of belting out show tunes, simply pretending to sing on stage will be a huge challenge for her. While her captive (in the true meaning of the word) audience usually consists of her husband and three kids, she is confident of her ability to wow the crowd with her lip-syncing skills. Her friends and family, however, are delighted that her microphone will be officially turned off tonight.
Erin is a true competitor at heart and excited to represent St. Cecilia’s 4th grade!
After the show, you can catch a glimpse of her at Val’s for karaoke where they keep the mic on for her.
Antoinette Haugh
Antoinette began her career in the entertainment industry at the tender age of 5 studying ballet under the tutelage of Susan Blankenship of the renowned, Susan’s Studio of Dance in her hometown of Tulare, California. Sadly, her career was cut short after Ms. Blankenship requested that Antoinette not return to the studio as she “cried too much”. Never one to be told “no”, Antoinette laced up her dance shoes once again for her elementary school’s talent show with a showstopping performance of Jarabe Tapatío, otherwise known as, the Mexican Hat Dance.
After conquering the world of dance, Antoinette took on the world of karaoke. When performing as a soloist, she enjoys covering The Foundations, “Build Me Up Buttercup” but when her better half is around, you can bet that they will go old school with a little Dolly and Kenny.
When not dancing in the kitchens of the Burkes or Sweeneys, Antoinette can be found making memories with her beautiful daughter, Carmen and handsome husband and karaoke partner, Jamie.
Tonight is her debut performance lip syncing...you decide if it will be her last.
And featuring:
Juan Baisman, John Greene & Jim Sweeney
Juan Baisman, John Greene and Jim Sweeney earned their musical chops right here in the Sunset. Representing the three separate areas in this fine neighborhood – below the boulevard (Jim), below 19th ave. (Juan), and lower-lower Golden Gate Heights (John) - these neighborhood boys spent their formative years “playing” at the finest clubs the Parkside had to offer including the long lost Lost weekend, South Pacific, and Playland. Completely lacking in any sort of formal musical training and too lazy to go the self-taught route, these three embody the phrase “they couldn’t carry a tune in a bucket.” While no sober person has any recollection of them ever performing, all three maintain that their overwhelming talents were responsible for many a patron falling off their barstool in awe.
Also featuring:
Rich Hunt, Adam D’Acquisto & Seamus Melaugh
Adam D'Aquisto Rich Hunt and Seamus Melaugh are a semi-infamous, semi-international trio known for their ability to blow hot air. Rich, a San Francisco native, is widely credited with bringing the vuvezela to Kezar resulting in a City- wide ban from all major sporting events. Adam, born and raised in the Richmond, spent his early years trying to perfect his craft playing trombone at Pier 39. However, once marine biologists recognized that his musical stylings were behind the mass seal exodus of ‘93, he too was banned from this public venue. Seamus Melaugh (pronounced Malock – like any good Irish name, the spelling has no relationship to the pronunciation) hails from Derry. While born into a musical family, Seamus showed no early signs of talent but was undaunted in his quest to blow hot air. His decision to forgo traditional Irish instruments and take up the saxophone caused great anguish to his nearest neighbors who all breathed a sigh of relief when he decided to leave Ireland for America to follow the blues.
