5th Grade Dancer: Jose Robles
Jose is from Guadalajara, Jalisco. He loves to dance and watch sports. Soccer is his favorite! His favorite team is Las Chivas de Guadalajara. Back in Mexico, Jose was in a 72 hour dancing competition of resistance that tested his strength and will power. All funds were raised for their local fire department. Jose had 2 partners, one was his sister and the other a friend. The ladies were allowed to take breaks but he was not. He danced on the dance floor for 38 hours straight! He took 4th place out of 200 couples! He has been working at St. Cecilia for more than 25 years and likes that this friendly competition will raise money for the school. He loves his job and they love him. Jose is really nervous to do this but he's going to give it all he’s got.
5th Grade Dancer: Elizabeth Acevedo
Elizabeth was born and raised in San Francisco and grew up in the Excelsior. She started working years ago at Extended Care and came back in the Fall of 2011 as the fifth grade aide. Before coming back to Saint Cecilia, she did some traveling and found herself learning about other cultures and their traditional dances. This ignited the flame that threw her into a dancing craze. Her past dancing experience has been with the Sacred Dalia belly dancing troupe. Later, Elizabeth became the assistant to the ballroom dancing class at BR studios. She likes to dance, but also likes to indulge in other pleasures such as cooking, reading, traveling and watching cartoons. She feels this event is going to be muy caliente and she is honored to represent fifth grade. Her dancing shoes are on!
