Candlestick Park was an outdoor sports and entertainment stadium located in the Bayview Heights area hosting both The San Francisco Giants and 49ers. It was America's first modern stadium, built entirely of reinforced concrete. Known for strong cold breezes that blew in from San Francisco Bay, making both players and spectators miserable, yet resilient. In 1984 the Crazy Crab was unveiled much to the dissatisfaction of the fans, and the suit had to be reinforced with a fiberglass shell for protection. The 49ers played their final game in 2013, the 36th and final game on Monday Night Football, the most at any stadium used by the NFL.

Infamous restaurant, bar and social club was originally frequented by dignitaries, rabblerousers, and sailors. In 1865, an acrobat had walked 400 feet on a tightrope between the Cliff House and Seal Rocks. Known for scandalous behavior, which greatly disturbed one prominent and well-known San Franciscan, Adolph Sutro, who later purchased and legitimized the establishment, adding The Sutro Baths in 1896, that included slides, trapezes, springboards and high dive as well as a rumored breakout in Diphtheria cases.

Steve Silver's Beach Blanket Babylon was the world's longest-running musical revue. Known for the ornate signature hats worn by the actors weighing up to 250lbs, they underwent physical therapy exercises to protect themselves from permanent damage. The show began its run in 1974, at the Savoy Tivoli and later moved to the larger Club Fugazi in the North Beach district of San Francisco, closing its doors in December 2019. Former Mayor Willie Brown, a longtime fan, says he gave the whole thing about six months after it first opened. Can’t win ‘em all.

Born during the California Gold Rush of 1849, when the population of San Francisco was growing at an exponential rate, The Barbary Coast were marred by persistent lawlessness, gambling, vigilante justice. However with the passage of time, the city's government gained strength and competence, and the Barbary Coast's maturing entertainment scene of dance halls and jazz clubs influenced American Jazz culture. In the 1936 film San Francisco Clark Gable plays a B.C. saloon-keeper and Jeanette MacDonald plays a opera singer who survive the 1906 earthquake. "Theme from San Francisco", sung by MacDonald, is San Francisco's official ballad.

A 10-acre amusement park located next to Ocean Beach at the western edge of San Francisco. It began as a collection of amusement rides and concessions in the late 1800s. Some of the rides came from a San Francisco amusement park located on Fulton Street known as “The Chutes,” which burned in 1911. The It’s-It ice cream sandwich was invented in 1928 and sold only at Playland-at-the-Beach. You can still hear the echos of Laffing Sal when the wind blows just right.
