Calling All Student Artists!!

St Cecilia School 2018 Individual-Art Submissions for the March Fundraiser

St Cecilia School is proud to host the first annual Individual-Art Preview Night, which takes place in the Lower Church on March 13, 2018. It is a wonderful opportunity for our kids to showcase their creativity. This school-wide project will allow any and all students the chance to create an original piece of art and enter into a juried benefit art auction. A group project is welcome. Each piece will go into one of three school grade categories:

~Primary K-2 ~Intermediate 3-5 ~Junior High 6-8

Themes: Prohibition era 1920’s - 1930’s artwork. Inspiration might come from:
-Geometric patterns (google: art deco wall patterns, Gatsby style)
-Fashion Illustrations (google: Erte)
-Sculpture
-Impressionism/Cubism/Surrealism (google Monet, Delaunay, Picasso, O’Keefe, Klee Miro, etc) 

Mediums: Paint on canvas, textile, illustration, sculpture (2D and 3D)

Entry Deadline: Monday, March 12
Artwork Drop-off: Friday, March 9 and Monday, March 12 (Lower Church in the AM)
Artwork Preview Night: Tuesday, March 13 (7:45pm Following the Spring Concert)
After School Preview: Wednesday 14, 2:30-3:15

All artwork will be reviewed and three winners from each category will be chosen as best in the show. Prizes will be awarded!!!  

The winner will be announced the evening of the March 24th Fundraiser!!!

The entire collection and the winning artwork will go to auction during our fundraiser. Buyers be ready, we are working to display all artwork online before and during the fundraiser.

Auction viewing and Event: Saturday, March 24, 6-10pm

We’ll be sending an email with images from the 1920’s -30’s in hopes of sparking interest in this project. Also, ask your children to look for updates on SCTV. Thank you everyone, for your child’s participation!!
