The children used tracers and cutout paper pieces to recreate Calder’s “La Fleur”. Each student also cutout a plastic piece that has been assembled to the larger classroom auction piece. The kinetic mobile spins freely. The yellow leaves represent K Gold and the red disc and flower are for Calder’s “La Fleur” and “Balloons”.

Title: "The Year We Stayed Home"
Materials: Felt, paper, glass. Room 4 created a very special mobile together. The meaning is a beautiful tribute to the resilience our children have shown over the past year. The birds were made by the students using different patterns for each body part celebrating how we all are alike and unique. Although we all needed to get out and about at times, we found that our "nests" were safe, good places to be.
